Jordan though is now beginning to realise his undoubted potential and for three rounds boxed and punched his way to a clear unanimous victory. Both Kelton and Jordan were commended by the Yorkshire officials for their boxing abilities.

Light Heavyweight Robert Bordon was quickly back in action taking on reigning ELCCIOM Novice light heavyweight Champion Jonathan Birch of Lancaster Boys ABC. With Birch taking the opening round, Rob then evened things up taking the second, and after a toe to toe slugfest third it all went to the judges scorecards, with a majority win going to Birch.
Robert and Adam are next in action on the giant open air show in Manchester on saturday afternoon on May 31st

In Stoke, 19 year old light heavyweight, Robert Bordon, put in a great display against the experienced 26 year old Gareth Millington of Shotton ABC, before narrowly losing a majority decision. In the Junior ABA Championships, welterweight David Morris looked stangely lethargic in dropping a majority decision to Larches Scott Fitzgerald.
Appearing on the Halifax ABC show light welterweight Peter Prescott made his debut, and despite improving with every round lost on points to the unorthodox Mohammed Awais of the home club. In the bout of the night, welterweight Ryan Lewis lost a controversial majority points decision to Halifax' Matthew Wheeler.

Another Westleigh High School representative next entered the ring in 12 year old lighy flyweight Michael Connor. Matched with Danny Longworth of Newbury & Farnworth ABC, Michael dominated from the first bell, taking every round on the way to a unanimous points win.
Bantamweight Ed Kirkham, of St Aldreds High School Newton, put in a gutsy display constantly taking the action to his bigger opponent, Alex Hyland of Vauxhall Motors ABC. It was never quite enough though, Ed losing on points.

In one of the most exciting bouts of the evening, Bedford School welterweight Hafeez Samad, showed real inner strength in overcoming an early count and heavy pressure to almost turn the result around in his bout with Aaron Edwards of Pioneer Community ABC. After going behind in the first two rounds, Hafeeze made an astonishing final round surge, and scoring with very heavy right hands, it was only the final bell that saved the exhausted and battered Edwards. A points loss but a moral victory for Hafeeze.
The experience of Ashley Peyton proved far too much for Centurions ABCs Craig Boardman, the Leigh boxer dominating throughout to take a clear points win.
Penultimate Leigh boxer to appear saw the exciting debut of 19 year old light middleweight Ryan Lewis. In a blistering display of speed and power, Ryan blasted through Jamie Wroe of Salford s Broughton ABC, the referee rescuing Wroe early in the second round.

Boxing in Liverpool for the first time, 12 year old light flyweight Michael Connor was matched on the Dovecot ABC Show opposite the home club's Sean Coulter. In an amazing setting, the club being an old converted theatre, the bout was second on the bill. As the first bell rang, southpaw Coulter took the action straight to the Leigh boxer, but showing great footwork Connor evaded the heavy looking blows and scored with neat straight shots. Now getting into his stride, Michael turned up the pressure reigning shots from all angles onto the retreating Liverpudlian. A powerful right hand caught Coulter forcing the referee to give an eight count as the bell sounded for the end of the first. Now showing great composure, the Leigh boxer mixed his shots, continually catching the home boxer and after administering two more counts to the overwhelmed Coulter, the referee stopped the action midway into the second round. A cool, clinical performance from the Leigh youngster.
