Competing for Team Leigh Boxing

Image:

Team Leigh Boxing has a successful amateur boxing squad, some of whom have been boxing since the club was founded in 2001. The club is willing to take a look at anyone who expresses the wish to take part in an amateur contest, but it takes a lot of hard work and time both for the boxer and the coaches. There are different tests and stages to go through before someone is given the honour of pulling on a Team Leigh Boxing vest, and over the years many have tried and failed to reach the required standard, while others have shown the strength of character, determination and application to go on and represent the club in competition.
Once a boxer has reached competition level the hard work continues and while some are no longer with the club because they could not handle the hard work and pressure required, for those with the desire the rewards are worth the effort, respect, high fitness levels, self confidence and in some cases ABA Championship titles. The club now also has a number of carded female boxers.
If you feel you have what it takes come and speak to the experienced coaches at the club and in a few years your name may join the 300+ Team Leigh title winners including National Champions, Marcus Morrison, Jack Catterall, Kian Flanagan, 2 Time Champion & GB Silver Medalist Will Hewitt, Harvey Ashcroft, John Dugdale, and 4 time National Champion & European Silver Medalist Kyle Parr current professionals, and England Internationals, National Silver Medalists Matty Burgess (twice), Coan Gildart, Josh Waterworth, Michael Connor, 3 - time National Silver Medalist Katie Smith, Martin Pilkington, Michael Connor and Sean Connor alongside other boxers who have done themselves, the club and the town proud
